I Started ALP: Finishing My Grade 12

by Mike on January 29, 2010

I started the Adult Learning Program (ALP) a couple days ago. I’m finally going to finish my grade 12. I made sure to take all academic courses, so that I’d have the courses that a university would require.

The schedule is strange. Monday I have two classes split up into 2 hours each; no classes on Tuesday; Wednesday, two classes 2 hours each, with one 1 hour class in the middle of them; two classes on Thursday, one for 2 hours, and the other for an hour; and only one class on Friday for 2 hours. Confused yet? It’s an easy, laid back schedule. So much more better than high school.

I know I’ll do well this time: I’m focused, I’m organized, life’s not chaotic and depressing like before (not to mention psychopath-free, too), and I’m determined to go to Acadia as it’s been a life-long goal for me. The only thing left for me to do is to get my damn eyes taken care of: they’re constantly paining and blurry when I’m in school.

After I finish ALP, I have to take a non-credit precalculus equivalent at Acadia. Then, finally Computer Science at Acadia — assuming they accept me. I’ll then be on my way to becoming a computer programmer.

I can’t wait!
